Netflix and Stress? Partners Fight Over Netflix Login, Bodes Well for the Relationship

We're all familiar with the concept of Netflix and Chill. We've seen how Netflix can bring couples together, but clearly, it can also cause a rift.

This Redditor posted a thread on Reddit's r/AmITheA**hole subreddit about how she and her partner share a profile on her Dad's Netflix account. There are already five profiles on the account and her father pays for it in full. Her partner, a teacher, wanted the login information so that he could show a movie to his class one day, but the original poster was hesitant. Not only is the account not hers, but she wasn't comfortable sharing it beyond their household. What if the kids figure out the password? What if her partner forgets to sign out? What if this leads to her Dad getting signed out?

We think all these worries are valid, but the Redditor's partner came home from work ready to fight about it. What he doesn't seem to get is that his significant other's father's Netflix account is a perk of their relationship and not something he's entitled to at all. Also, hasn't he heard of ANY other streaming services? They apparently use his family's Disney+ account. Could they not use that? Wouldn't Disney+ be more appropriate for a class full of kids? We understand her partner's resistance to Hulu (unless he has Hulu with no ads) or HBO Max (given whatever the hell is going on over there). Still, the point is there were other options before he needed to start a whole fight about the Netflix account that, you know, isn't his.
